In
1957, Metropolitan Pump Company began operations from a "home"
office in Western Springs, Illinois and was subsequently
incorporated in 1967. Since that time, Metropolitan has evolved
into a one-stop shop for pumps, controls and ancillary equipment
covering the municipal, commercial, HVAC, industrial and
residential water and wastewater industries.
The company is headquartered in Romeoville, Ill., 25 miles
southwest of Chicago and occupies a 100,000 sq. ft facility that
houses over $6 million in inventory and employs 130 people.
One of the keys to the Metropolitan's success is its ability to
quickly expand into new markets. For instance, given the current
state of U.S. energy policy and the move toward "Green"
technology, Metropolitan has trail blazed the path with such
products as variable-speed, energy-reducing pump systems, solar
powered water products and environmentally friendly wastewater
systems.
Metropolitan believes in research and development and has a
dedicated staff assigned to the design, introduction and
deployment of new technology to make our end-users more
productive and efficient in the field.
The company believes in "Single Source Responsibility" which
means one company, one phone call to make when you have a
service issue or question.
Part of our commitment as a pumping systems leader includes
sharing our expertise within the industry by conducting seminars
designed for engineers, water/wastewater operators and city
officials. Seminars cover design, service, technology advances,
etc., and most satisfy state requirements for continuing
education requirements.
So who is Metropolitan? It is best summed up by just saying The
Pumping World's One Stop Shop!
