Mechanical: Steam Basics - 3.0 PDHs

Participants will learn the basics of commercial and industrial steam. Topics include: Steam trap theory and operation, pressure reducing stations, condensate return pumps, boiler feed/make-up water systems and much more. We will discuss best piping practices, common installation rules and troubleshooting tips.

Commercial: Self-Priming Pump Application / Installation / Operation / Maintenance - 4.0 PDHs

This class will focus on the application and design, operation, maintenance and repair of self-priming pumps. Hands-on demonstrations will give attendees the ability to repair and troubleshoot the self-priming pump in a supervised and controlled environment.

Commercial: Building Pressure Reducing Valves – Application / Operation / Maintenance / Repair- 4.0 PDHs

This class will focus on the application and design, operation, maintenance and repair of pressure reducing valves. Hands-on demonstrations will give attendees with the ability to rebuild, operate and troubleshoot pressure reducing valves in a supervised and controlled environment.

Commercial: Water Systems – Energy Saving Strategies– 4.0 CEUs (IEPA), 4.0 PDHs

This class will focus on upgrading your existing domestic water booster system (cold water side) through the use of new control technologies. Topics discussed will include new VFD drives, new pumping options with improved hydraulic efficiency, booster system upgrades and options, upgrading your existing pressure reducing valve “zoned” systems, premium efficiency water heating systems, chemical feed equipment, basic water reuse, recycling design considerations and more.

Control and Pump Repair 101 – 4.5 CEUs (IEPA), 4.5 PDHs

This half day, hands-on training program is designed for operators, foreman and others responsible for submersible pump stations. The course will focus on the proper maintenance and repair of submersible pumping and control equipment. Topics include: Safety, record keeping, basic control panel circuitry and related components, diagnosing problems, pump components and guide-rail systems.
Participants will review the workings of a basic control panel and disassemble an eight-inch submersible pump. During each topic, the instructor discusses the internal components and the importance each plays in the make-up of a submersible pumping system.

Municipal: How To Get The Most From Your SCADA System– 4.0 CEUs (IEPA), 4.0 PDHs

This class covers a variety of topics related to supervisory control and data acquisition systems. Discussion and live demonstrations will include communication methods (phone, cellular, licensed radio, spread spectrum, fiber-optic and more), software, hardware requirements and options, incorporating security and even surveillance into your system, report generating and more.

Municipal: Infrastructure Improvements- ABCs of Pump System Improvements– 4.0 CEUs (IEPA), 4.0 PDHs

This presentation includes an in-depth discussion of how certain equipment (pumps, controls and accessories) can be added to improve your present water pumping system, existing storm water or sanitary lift stations, standby power needs, chemical feed systems and/or water and wastewater process equipment. This class is ideal for personnel involved in the regular operation and/or maintenance of water and wastewater collection, treatment and distribution systems.

This class is designed for installers/contractors covering sump and sewage pump systems, battery backup systems, water booster applications, domestic hot water systems including tankless water heaters and other plumbing-related accessories in a typical residential or small commercial installation.
